Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is charged with governance of the College and is constituted from members of the College's larger community and who are elected by parents / caregivers for a three-year term.
The board includes two school-based representatives, one representing staff and one the student body. The Principal is an ex-officio member of the Board. The College has an Executive Officer who is also the Board of Trustees Secretary.

The Board operates 9 committees, each with a focus on a different facet of Wairarapa College:
- Hostel
- Canteen
- College Property
- Uniform
- Student Discipline
- Supported Learning Centre
- Continuing Education
- Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
- Finance
Each of these committees meet at regular intervals to ensure the smooth running of the College.
Board Meetings 2010
Board meetings are held once a month, usually on the last Wednesday of the month. Please contact the Board Secretary to add agenda items or to request a hearing.

With major changes in the curriculum that is delivered in New Zealand schools, the board has been required to devote a large amount of time and financial resources to the development of the College's teaching facilities. Most recently these have included Performing Arts teaching space and mini-performance area and replacement of classrooms and laboratories destroyed in the arson fire of June 2002..
