Wairarapa College Comunity Education Department
Co-ordinator: R (Rex).W.G Fowler Dip PE,Dip Tchg, TTC.
This department, (previously known as "Evening School") has 3 main objectives:- To provide second chance education for those who wish to upskill themselves after they have left formal day school.
- To offer social and practical skills so that students will be better able to fit into society or the workplace.
- To make available a wide range of learning opportunities, so that new areas of interest may be developed to enhance: overseas travel, create interest in many handcraft recreational activities, update technical skills and study toward a number of national certificates.
Classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m sometimes classes occur during a weekend. Fees are kept to absolute mimimum so that everyone has the opportunity to take part in whichever class they wish.
