Bienvenue to the French department. French is offered from year 9 to year 13 at Wairarapa College. During the course we not only seek to communicate in French but to develop our understanding of French culture, including food, music, fashion and film. More...
Hospitality

Year 13 Restaurant
Hospitality is offered to year 12 and 13 students. We are able to offer a range of achievement standards and industry based unit standards from the Hospitality Standards Institute.
Year 13 Students run a restaurant for 3 nights towards the end of the course. They plan the event, take bookings and then carry out their plans to present food to paying guests.
Science

Experimenting
Science is compulsory at Year 9 through to Year 11 it then breaks up into the individual disciplines of Physics, Biology and Chemistry. With the new curriculum, changes were made to the existing schemes of work.
The main change was to move to a more thematic based approach to teaching the knowledge component. In these themes we have intergrated the science skills through the "Nature of Science" strand of the curriculum.
Social Studies

The aim of Social Studies is to foster independent learners who are well-informed and active citizens.
Students are assessed twice a term in Social Studies. They are assessed on their performance in the Inquiry for each unit and they are also assessed on their Learning Journals. More...
