Sports Council
The sports council is comprised of interested staff and a number of school prefects who identify sports as one of their personal strengths and interests.
Athletics day
The students then opt to contribute to the various sub-committees:
- Finance
- Inter-house lunchtime activities
- Major events
- Sports awards – Elites, Blues and Awards
- Policy review
- Catering for inter-school fixtures
The Sports Co-ordinator is a member of the sports council and he works with the council to make decisions.
The council distributes funds made available by the Board of Trustees. In the main it is used to help various codes purchase practise equipment and safety gear. It pays for the entry into national tournaments and it has also helped support students who have gained New Zealand representation to travel overseas.
At the end of last year the council was responsible for the organisation of funds to set up an outdoor basketball backboard and hoop.
Sub-Committee meetings are held when they are deemed necessary.
