Cans, cans and more cans carried by students in mufti poured into Wairarapa College last week.
In what is becoming a tradition for the annual winter Mufti Day, instead of bringing a gold coin donation students were asked to bring a non-perishable item of food to help the Masterton Food Bank.
Organised by the student council an overwhelming amount of food was donated with nearly 1000 cans and packets of food up for collection in the morning from different group classes.
Student Council member and deputy head girl Molly O’Hagan says bringing a can is so easy for students and will be a great boost for the food bank.
Council members took trolleys to the group classes and their loads grew heavier the more classes they visited.
