In wet and wild spring weather this year’s Wairarapa College farm lambs underwent docking last week.
Year 10 agriculture students toiled away in the mud and rain undertaking all the tasks including getting them into the yards, picking them up, drenching and docking.
Head of agriculture Dan Grace says it is great seeing the juniors get involved in the running the of the college farm. ‘They get to see the full cycle from mating, lambing, docking and shearing,’ he says. ‘They worked in challenging conditions and did a great job.’
