Te Ao Māori

Poipoia te kakano,kia puawai.
Nuture the seed and it will blossom.

Wairarapa College is committed to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to ensuring our Māori students achieve success as Māori.

Our strategic priorities include:

  • Embedding Te Ao Māori across our curriculum.
  • Te Reo Māori is core curriculum in our junior school.
  • Tikanga Māori is visible and practised.

We encourage students to be part of our Whatonga Whānau class and Kapa Haka group as well as for whānau to attend our whānau hui and join our Māori Student Achievement steering group.
